WELCOME TO COMMON THIRDS
We help people build, practice and apply the skills they need to…
Get the right stuff done in work and life, understand themselves in relation to others, and remember and look after their own needs (because self-care in action is a skill too).
We aim to widen access to the kind and stretchy shared opportunities that we all should have access to.
WHY DOES COMMON THIRDS EXIST?

We are social beings wired for growth.
At Common Thirds, we believe that the opportunity to develop ourselves and build real skill through shared experiences and activities was once common in communities, and this persists as an essential unmet need today.
We meet this need by creating ‘The Commons’—shared tools, spaces, and experiences to learn and grow through for new ways to think, plan, act and do.
Our name gives a nod to the pedagogical concept of the “Common Third,” which describes a shared activity that flattens power dynamics between ‘teachers’ and ‘students.’ Our work builds on the understanding that people learn best in action —not by being lectured or directed.
OUR APPROACH: GROW WITH PURPOSE & CONFIDENCE
With a broad program of support on the horizon, our approach is based on three key principles:

EXPERIMENTAL
LEARNING
You learn by doing. Through tasks designed to surface the things you need to know about yourself, how to get things done and how you show up in the world, there is the chance to experiment and apply what you’ve learned.

COLLECTIVE
GROWTH
You learn with others. Growth is fueled by feedback from real shared experiences, which catalyse change through improved communication and cooperation.

INTEGRATIVE
DEVELOPMENT
You grow as a whole person. We help you integrate personal wellbeing and professional development because both are essential for lasting success.
Nat Bear brings professional experience in skills, team, and leadership development, integrating counselling and coaching, and workplace wellbeing to help people get the right things done whilst remembering themselves and their needs.
